It’s pumpkin season, even here in Southern California where we may prefer our autumnal beverages iced at the moment.
Would it even be October if you didn’t pumpkin pick, pose, and post?
Even the wildfire watch, planned power outage, and 94 degree heat couldn’t stop the fall festivities at the Underwood Family Farms in Moorepark, CA. For a $38 entrance fee, we were treated to a visit with barn friends (we love Chocolate the donkey), roaming entertainment like trick ropers and stilt walkers, pig races, the corn maze, a tractor ride, and of course the main attraction…the pumpkin patch! There are a number of activities that do require additional tickets - the train ride, the petting zoo, and various games - but in my opinion, the price of entry is well worth a day spent supporting this location. It’s worth noting that weekday entry is $16 though.
I describe Underwood Family Farms as the Disneyland of pumpkin patches. There are rides, imaginative play structures, delicious local food vendors, produce and goods to take home, and most importantly, a gorgeous variety of pumpkins to load in your wheelbarrow and take home to decorate your doorstep.
I’ve never had anything short of a magical time here with my family, and we are already excited to return this year for Christmas!
